Miniature:
Virgin Mary: Infancy, Instruction -- Young Virgin Mary, nimbed and crowned, her right hand on book, stands beside Anna, nimbed and wearing wimpled veil, indicating Virgin Mary with right hand, and holding the book on her lap with left hand. She is seated on canopied throne. Above, rays come through window toward them. At left is John Baptist, nimbed, indicating with right hand Lamb of God, nimbed, holding bannered cross staff, resting on book held in left hand of John Baptist.
Scene in room with decorated wall, windows, and tile floor.
Margin, lower:
Largely effaced heraldic shield is flanked by man and woman, veiled, both with joined hands, each kneeling at prie-dieu on which is open book.
Margins decorated with border of floreate and foliate ornament including rose, and inhabited by two cocks perching on largely effaced heraldic shield, weasel, and squirrel.
