Christ: Crucifixion -- Christ, nimbed, head inclined, wearing short loincloth, is affixed with three nails to cross with titulus inscribed INRI.
Surrounding him are angels holding Instruments of Passion.
Mary Magdalen, nimbed, kneeling, embraces lower stem cross. Skull and bones are at base of cross.
Virgin Mary, nimbed, orant, standing next to oak tree (in reference to 'Rovere'), and Evangelist John, nimbed, with joined hands raised, flank cross.
Foliate border, including candelabrum, forms inhabited by putti, frames miniature.
In upper border, garland hangs above cross.
In left border, three (possibly four) prophets hold scrolls and gesture toward Christ.
