Francis of Assisi: receiving Stigmata -- Francis, nimbed and tonsured, wears habit of Franciscan, with knotted cincture, orant. Rays descend to wounds in hands, side and feet from wounds of Christ, crossed nimbus, as seraph, affixed with three nails to crucifix in sky on cloud. Francis kneels before draped altar with reredos; another monk, probably Leo of Assisi, tonsured, holding open book on lap with both hands, is seated on step before the altar.
