Julius Caesar: Scene, Civil Wars, Battle of Pharsalus -- Among groups of helmeted soldiers (Romans and Pompey’s army), some wearing wide-brimmed hats, three hold heraldic bannered lances, one decorated with two dragons, and one decorated with three crescents, two aim arrows in bows at each other, four hold shields and several hold spears. Scene in hilly and grassy landscape with trees. Figures painted in grisaille. Decorated with ivy-rinceaux and floreate ornament in border above and below left column, miniature within gold frame. Initial Q of Quant decorated with foliate and floreate ornament. Miniature for Chapter 996 of Faits de Romains.
