Psalm 001 (Vulg., 001).
Evangelist, John: boiled in Oil -- Within upper bow of initial S, Domition, crowned, seated, and Hand of God, emerging from arc of heaven, points toward scene below.
Within lower bow of initial S, an executioner holds kettle on brazier with right hand. With left hand, he indicates Evangelist John, nimbed, tonsured, joined hands raised, standing in barrel.
Scene is set in gold background within initial S, decorated with foliate ornament and partly formed by dragon.
Left border contains letters V, L, M, C written in gold. Each letter is initial beginning a verse.
SC NICHOLAVS (erroneously) is written in gold letters in lower border of decorated frame.
