Miniature, column, right: Mary Magdalen: Scene, at Saint-Baume and Miracle of Sainte-Baume -- Beneath rays, Mary Magdalen, nimbus as rays, nude, partly clothed in her hair, with joined hands raised over open book on ground and ointment jar, emerges from cave before group of seven figures, some possibly angels. Scene in hilly landscape in which roam animals, possibly lion, with buildings in background. Miniature for Antiphon in Matins for Feast of Mary Magdalen (07.02). Initial L enclosing half figure of Mary Magdalen, nimbed, with draped left hand holding ointment jar; against gold background and at beginning of Collect " Largire nobis Domine clementissime pater que ..." Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration, inhabited by half figures of two prophets, wearing hats, emerging from clouds, holding scrolls inscribed LACRIMIS CEPIT R(IGARE) and ET CAPILLIS CAP(ITIS) (right).
