Miniature, column, right: Apostle, Peter: Release from Prison -- Apostle Peter, nimbed, tonsured, with right hand holding key and with left hand grasped by right hand of angel, both departing to right. In background left, prison tower against which leans sleeping soldier. Scene in landscape with silhouette of windmill and city buildings in background. Initial E enclosing half figure of Apostle James Major, nimbed, with right hand holding staff slung with scallop shell and with left hand holding book for Feast of Apostle Peter in Chains (08.01). Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration, inhabited by half figures of two prophets, wearing hats, emerging from clouds, holding scrolls inscribed EXEU(N)TES and P(RO)CESSERU(N)T UICU(M) (right).
