Evangelist Matthew, nimbed, sits on ground, writing with pen held in right hand on scroll with pseudo-inscription. Beside him is his symbol (angel), holding roll (?) in right hand and ink jar in left hand. Figures are in room with two windows and open portal, and within architectural frame, at top of which is stature of figure.
In margin is floreate border, including roses.
