Evangelist Matthew, nimbed, wearing hat, is seated on throne, resting right hand on scroll on his lap, left hand exgended to book held by Evangelist symbol (angel).
Miniature within frame of poly-lobed arch supported by clusters of colonnettes and architectural elements.
Margins decorated with floreate and foliate ornament, including large branches and strawberry, and inhabited by birds, bird pecking at fly, snail, and grasshopper.
