Evangelist, John: Scene, on Patmos -- Evangelist John, with rays as nimbus, sits on small island and holds scroll with pseudo-inscription in his lap. Beside John stands eagle (Evangelist Symbol), with wings extended, holding inkpot and stylus case. Scene in medallion in lower margin.
Decorated initial I. Upper and lower margins with foliate and vinescroll ornament. Upper margin inhabited by bird.
