Evangelist Luke, pearled nimbus, tonsured, sits on cushioned bench with feet on footstool and holds tablet in left hand. With right hand he dips pen in inkpot on stand. Figure between two curtains, each draped around inner border of frame decorated with acanthus foliage. Background inscription, INITIV(M) S(AN)C(T)I EVA(NGELII) S(E)C(VN)D(V)M LVCA(M).
