Virgin Mary and Christ Child: Type, Suckling -- Virgin Mary, nimbed and veiled, is seated on throne, resting feet on cushion. With her left hand, she holds, on her lap, nude Christ Child, crossed rays as nimbus, holding her right breast with both hands as He suckles. The are flanked by two angels, one playing lute, the other playing harp. Scene in room with colonnade open to landscape with hills, trees, and buildings.
Miniature of grisaille and gold, within Italianate architectural frame, decorated with foliate capitals, masks, putto holding foliate garland.
