Benedictine monk, possibly Benedict of Montecassino, nimbed, wearing hood, with hands joined; bishop, probably Augustine of Hippo, wearing miter with infulae and cope, raising right hand in blessing, and holding crozier with sudarium in left hand; cardinal, probably Jerome, nimbed, wearing cardinal's hat; Giles of Provence, nimbed and tonsured, holding open book with right hand and head of crozier with left hand, supporting deer standing on hind legs, leaning on Giles;and pope, probably Gregory the Great, nimbed, wearing triple crowned papal tiara and cope, holding two armed processional cross with right hand; group of men, nimbed, some only nimbus visible. All standing before cloth of honor supported by two angels.
Margins decorated with border of floreate and foliate ornament.
