Margin, right: Pope Cornelius, wearing cross-surmounted triple crowned papal tiara and cope fastened with morse, with left hand holding cross-staff and with right hand holding horn (of unction?). Initial M enclosing half figure of man at beginning of First Lesson for Feast of Exaltation of the Cross (09.14). Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration, including strawberry, also inhabited by half figure of angel, with joined hands raised, emerging from cloud (right).
