Augustine of Hippo, nimbed, as bishop, wearing miter and cope with morse, holding crozier with right hand and heart surmounted by cross with left hand. At right, Monica, nimbed and veiled with wimple, wearing fur-lined mantle, holding open book with both hands. Figures flanking column supporting vault within arch framing miniature.
Margins decorated with border of floreate ornament inhabited by hybrid man, and fantastic animal, mouth open, showing teeth. Text and miniature framed on three sides by gold bars decorated with vining leaves.
