Avis aus Roys: Text, Book I, Chapter 24 -- Seven figures of crowned kings, wearing mail, personify seven types of fortitude. First king holds heraldic shield and carries sword. Second king, holding shield, bends down as hand, emerging from cloud in left corner of frame, strikes him on head with club-like weapon. Third king holds shield and sword. Fourth king raises sword in right hand and grasps, with left hand, hair of kneeling figure. Fifth king holds shield on left arm and spear with banner in right hand. Sixth king, with shield, decorated with lion rampant, and sheathed sword, is blindfolded. Seventh king, with shield on left arm, gazes upward at hand, holding sword, emerging from cloud in right corner of frame. Group of figures look on.
