Virgin Mary: Annunciation -- Archangel Gabriel, nimbed, right hand raised, holding fleur-de-lis staff in left hand kneels behind Virgin Mary, nimbed, raising right hand, looking back over right shoulder. She is kneeling next to vase of flowers, at draped prie-dieu on which is open book, on which she rests left hand. Above, left, God, raising right hand and holding globe in left hand, appears in cloud-edged arc of heaven, emitting rays toward Virgin Mary, on which are Christ Child, nimbed, holding cross on right shoulder, kneeling on one knee, and dove of Holy Spirit in gold mandorla. Scene in room with coffered ceiling, tiled flower and window through which garden is visible; canopied bed in background.
Miniature of grisaille and gold with painted accents, within Italianate architectural frame decorated with foliate garland held by two putti, foliate capitals, supporting animals, horns, and mask.
