Benedict of Montecassino: Scene, leaving Monastery -- Benedict of Montecassino, nimbed, wearing hooded monk’s habit, holding staff in right hand, and six cowled monks, one looking back over his shoulder, all depart from arched door in which are two tonsured monks, one partly covering his face with draped hands. Scene in Monastery of Montecassino room with wooden ceiling and in hilly landscape with trees. Miniature within frame for Chapter 8 of Book II of Dialogues; Benedict of Montecassino leaves monastery to work his miracles.
