Evangelist John, nimbed, holding pen with right hand, rests left hand holding knife on open book or parchment on lectern with inkhorn in hole. He is seated on chair with footstool looking back over right shoulder toward head of evangelist symbol (eagle), nimbed, issuing from cloud.
All enclosed in frame decorated with geometric ornament.
