Miniature, column, left: John Baptist, with both hands holding Lamb of God, rays as crossed nimbus, flanked by Apostle Andrew, with right hand on saltire cross, and by Pope Cornelius, wearing triple-crowned papal tiara and cope fastened with morse, with both hands holding horn (of unction?). In background, Stephen Protmartyr, with stone lodged in tonsured head, beside Sebastian of Rome, with right hand holding bow, beside George of Cappadocia, wearing helmet and cross-inscribed armor, with left hand holding spear, beside Lawrence of Rome, tonsured; all are nimbed and in landscape against filigree background. Miniature at beginning of Chapter for Feast of Several Martyrs. Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration, including strawberry, inhabited by two prophets, wearing hats, emerging from clouds, holding scrolls inscribed UOS QUI S(ECUTI) and IUSTOR(UM) A(N)I(M)E (left).
