Evangelist, John: boiled in Oil -- Nude Evangelist John, nimbed, raising right hand in blessing over chalice in left hand, stands in tub as torturer, wearing tall hat, pours oil from long handled pot or ladle over his head. Above left, hand of God, blessing, emerges from cloud.
