Within architectural setting of decorated arch inscribed within rectangle, supported on columns to outside of which curtains are tied, Evangelist Matthew inscribed "Picture of Saint Matthew" (Ge'ez), nimbed, holding pen in right hand and book inscribed "Saint Matthew" (Ge'ez) in left hand, seated on cross-surmounted chair before three vessels, and lectern attached to the framing column.
