Christ: Crucifixion -- Christ, rays as crossed nimbus, wearing short loincloth, is affixed with three nails to cross with titulus INRI. He is flanked by two thieves, both tied to crosses, one on left with back to Christ. Mary Magdalene, nimbed, crouches behind foot of cross, arms wrapped around cross, her ointment jar on ground in foreground. At left are three Holy Women, nimbed and veiled, Evangelist John, nimbed, raising right hand, and Virgin Mary, nimbed and veiled, her hands clasped. At right are group of horsemen, possibly including Longinus, raising left hand and and looking toward Christ. Soldiers, wearing helmets and holding spears are in background. In distance is city.
