Christ: Deposition -- Beneath cross and ladder with three men standing behind him, Joseph of Arimethea, pouch tied around waist, lowers torso of dead Christ, rays as nimbus, blood issuing from wounds, onto shroud. Another man, possibly Nicodemus, bent over, lowers feet of Christ into shroud. Behind him, man, standing, wearing cap and cowl, holds ointment jar in both hands. Three nails lie on ground under Christ. Below, Evangelist John supports head of veiled Virgin Mary, rays as nimbus, lying on the ground, hand to her breast.
