Virgin Mary and Christ Child -- Half figure of Virgin Mary, nimbed, veiled, with both hands supporting nude Christ Child, cross-nimbed, both against gold background. Scene in room with tiled floor, within initial C at beginning of introit of Mass for Feast of Annunciation to Virgin Mary. Initials C enclosing pair of wings, possibly manna descending in rays (?), and possibly wreath. Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration, inhabited by two busts of men, wearing hats, emerging from foliate buds (upper); and at least four half figures emerging from foliate buds, some blowing on horns.
