Christ: Entombment -- Joseph of Arimethea, with pouch tied around waist, and a second man, back turned, lower shrouded body of Christ, rays as nimbus, into sarcophagus. Behind and to left of Joseph of Arimethea are two men, one holding staff and pointing to body of Christ.
Evangelist John, hands raised, stands behind veiled Virgin Mary, decorated nimbus, holding left hand of Christ to her face. Behind her, holy woman kneels with both hands to face. Scene set in rocky landscape with castle seen in distance.
Miniature and text framed by decorative border of foliate design.
