Left column:
Christ: confounding Soldiers --Christ, nimbed, beardless (?), arms crossed on breast, is flanked by two scrolls, one inscribed QUE(M) QUERIT(IS) (John 18:4) and the other EGO SU(M) (John 18:5). Two men, at His sides, looking toward Him, each hold scroll inscribed IH(ESU)M NAZA(R)ENU(M) (John 18:5). They all stand amid group of soldiers sitting or reclining on ground, all wearing helmets and armor, two holding scimitars.
