Miniature, above: Among two groups of men, two wearing pointed hats, one wearing draped headgear and one wearing turban-like headgear, all flank field of grain and vineyard before crenellated city in hills and trees in background; on circular island amid water. Initial M of Melos decorated with foliate ornament. Miniature, below: Man, wearing knotted headgear, with scimitar tied to belt, raises both hands to fruit in tree beside entrance to cave out of which emerges wingless dragon, with mouth open, issuing tongue and flames toward two men, one wearing hat, one wearing turban-like headgear, both looking back. To right on water, ship with one man on board. Scene in hilly landscape with mountain and trees with city in background. Initial M of Medie decorated with foliate ornament. Miniature for Livre de Merveilles du Monde for island of Milos (Greece) and Media (Iran).
