Confessio Amantis: Scene, Crassus searching for Gold -- Crassus, crowned, wearing cloak and long fur lined tunic, holding scepter in right hand and raising left hand, stands next to man, wearing turban type headgear, holding sack in right hand and indicating column, decorated with crenellations, foliate ornament and two headed eagle, and with mirror at top. Column is supported by wooden beams at side. Around base of column are miner raising pickaxe over his head, and hindquarters, head and feet of three other miners visible in holes in earth. Sack is on ground between two miners.
