Roman de la Rose: Scene, Forced Abstinence and False Seeming before God of Love -- God of Love (Eros), crowned, winged, sits with legs crossed on bench and gestures toward Dominican friar, representing Personification of False Seeming, tonsured, wearing habit, holding staff in left hand and raising right hand, and nun, wearing habit, representing Personification of Forced Abstinence, with book with two straps slung over shoulder, extending left hand. Scene against diapered background within frame of miniature decorated with tendrils in left column.
In bottom of right column of fol. 73v, rubric caption of scene.
