Upper half: Solomon: crowned King -- At left, priest wearing miter or hat raising right hand to crown on head of Solomon, seated on throne with canopy raising right hand, holding with left hand scepter also held by right hand of man wearing almuce (?). All flanked by five (?) men, some only partially visible. From chapter 1 of I Kings (Vulg., III Kings). David: Death -- At right, David, crowned, nude, head on pillow, reclining on draped bed, belt and garment hanging from rod above the bed. Three men with joined hands raised, standing next to the bed. From chapter 2 of I Kings (Vulg., III Kings). Lower half: Solomon: Judgment -- At left, Solomon, crowned, seated on throne with canopy, holding scepter with left hand, indicating with right hand, man wearing hat on hood, holding sword with right hand and grasping with left hand, right arm of nude infant. Two women, veiled with wimples, foremost gesturing with both hands and looking toward the man; the other, turning away, right hand on breast, left hand to head. From chapter 3 of I Kings (Vulg., III Kings). Solomon: Death -- At right, two women wearing hoods, and three men, two with joined hands, one with right hand on breast, standing next to draped bed with canopy. Solomon, crowned, head on pillow, eyes closed, nude, hands crossed on abdomen, reclining on the bed. From chapter 11 of I Kings (Vulg., III Kings).
