Christ: Entombment -- Standing beside cross on mound, Evangelist John, nimbed, supports Virgin Mary, nimbed, veiled, with joined hands raised, glancing toward cave in which Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus lower Christ's body into sarcophagus. Mary Magdalen, holding ointment jar, is seated on ground outside cave.
In background is landscape.
Miniature and text framed by architectural border.
Initial C decorated with foliate ornament begins Compline of Long Hours of the Cross.
