Virgin Mary and Christ Child -- Virgin Mary, nimbed, is seated on throne with canopy, holding Christ Child, nimbed. At left are angel and female donor, wearing headress, and fur lined garment, kneeling with joined hands. At right stand two angels.
Scene in room decorated with architectural ornament.
Margin, right:
Male donor (?) dressed in black, with joined hands, kneels looking toward Virgin Mary.
Margin, lower:
Theophilus the Penitent: Scene, praying to Virgin Mary -- Virgin Mary, nimbed and crowned, extends left arm toward Theophilus, tonsured, kneeling, holding book or document with left hand. Devil hovers behind him.
Margins decorated with border of floreate ornament including strawberry and inhabited by bird, bee and snail.
