Confessio Amantis: Scene, Emperor Frederick and two Beggars -- Emperor Frederick, crowned, wearing cloak trimmed with vair, holding scepter with right hand and cross surmounted globe with draped left hand, stands at end of draped table on which is one container of gold coins and one container of food. Two beggars stand, one on each side of the table, one looking up, the other looking toward the Emperor, each indicating one of the containers.
Scene in room with niches or windows, decorated walls, tile floor. Heraldic shield of king of England after 1340 (France and England quarterly, surmounted by crown) hanging in background.
