Roman de la Rose: Scene, Nero witnessing Dissection of Mother -- Mother of Nero, nude, eyes closed, reclining on table, is pierced and cut open with knife held in right hand of bearded man, beside another man, wearing hat, holding cleaver with left hand.
To right, bearded Nero, wearing cross-surmounted crown over helmet and fur-lined garments, raises right hand, seated on throne decorated with scroll work and portrait medallion of helmeted soldier.Scene in room with window on far wall and tiled floor.
