De Re Militari: Scene, Fortification of Cities -- Three soldiers, one bleeding from wound, all holding spears, are on ramparts of city wall (?) defending against two soldiers with spears, soldier with gun, soldier climbing ladder holding shield over his head, soldier bleeding from wound in back holding cross bow, soldier with bow (?) and another man with no weapon. Two other ladders lean against wall. At top of wall are two women (?) wearing headdresses, with joined hands extended. At right is man standing next to one of three cannons, and tent in which are two men.
Scene in landscape with trees.
Bust of man enclosed in initial U.
Margins decorated with border of floreate ornament including strawberries and inscribed IIIJ in upper margin and I in right margin.
