Christ: before Pilate -- Seven of eleven soldiers hold spear, one holds axe and wears knife on belt; all wear helmets. They stand behind Christ, cross-nimbed, wearing robe with long sleeves, His feet bare. His draped hands are crossed and tied and His left arm is held by man, bareheaded. Christ stands to right of Pilate, wearing hat and robe lined with vair, seated on draped and canopied throne with footrest. Soldier, wearing mail, kneels on one knee before Pilate, indicating Christ with his left hand and raising his right hand. Two of three men, all wearing hats, and standing behind throne, grasp drape covering throne; the third gestures and looks toward second man. Scene has background of gold filigree on red, and floor of gold tile.
Margins decorated with border of foliate and floreate ornament.
