Virgin Mary: Visitation -- Initial D formed by twisted branches enclosing Virgin Mary, nimbus as rays, veiled, with right hand extended to hands of Elizabeth, nimbed, veiled with wimple, both in grassy landscape with rocks and buildings in background. Margins decorated with borders of strewn flowers, including forget-me-not, pink, daisy, and white rose (alba rosa), strawberry, and inhabited by fly, dragonfly, and in lower right, crouching monkey, wearing headgear and holding beaded necklace. Miniature at beginning of Lauds in Hours of the Virgin.
