Christ: Nativity -- Beneath Dove of Holy Ghost, descending in rays, Christ Child, cross-nimbed, nude, emitting rays, reclining on spread garment of Virgin Mary, scalloped nimbus, kneeling with joined hands raised, opposite Joseph the Carpenter, kneeling, with joined hands holding lit candle, head of ox and ass behind them; all in shed with thatched roof, wattle-fence visible at right. Scene in hilly landscape with trees and castle buildings in distance. Margins decorated with foliate and floreate ornament. Miniature at beginning of Hours of the Virgin at Prime.
