Evangelist Mark, nimbed, wearing hat, is seated, holding quill in right hand, left hand holding open book on his lap. Beside him Evangelist symbol (lion) is on floor. Behind him is cupboard (?) on top of which stand two books. Scene within room with colonnade open to exterior.
Miniature framed by quadri-lobe arch supported by twisted and decorated columns and architectural elements.
Margins decorated with floreate and foliate ornament, including large branches, strawberry and dianthus, and inhabited by hybrid animal, birds, moth, and duck.
