Boniface VIII, inscribed DOMINUS BENEDICTUS GAIETANUS QUI ET BONIFACIUS OCTAVUS PAPA, wearing triple-crowned papal tiara, with right hand holding pitchfork with cock mounted on side of its handle, and with left hand holding key. Eagle (?) hangs by its beak from left wrist of the pope, and bird, possibly peahen, opens beak, at his feet. To right monk, tonsured, sits with right hand raised toward the pope. Below text, motto of Pope Boniface VIII, FRAUDULENTER INTRASTI, POTENTER REGNASTI GEMENS MORIERIS. Folio numbered "Sextus" at upper margin.
