Upper half: Nebuchadnezzar: Worship of Image -- At left, group of men accompany Nebuchadnezzar, crowned, all kneeling, most with joined hands raised before idol of devil with grotesque facial features and cloven hooves, seated on column, with both hands raised. From chapter 3 of Daniel. Nebuchadnezzar: addressing Hebrews Three -- At right, beside man, wearing hat and gesturing, Nebuchadnezzar, crowned, with left hand holding scepter and with right hand raised to indicate Hebrews Three in fiery oven, all with joined hands raised. From chapter 3 of Daniel. Lower half: Nebuchadnezzar: praising God (?) -- At left, accompanied by group of men (two with only heads visible) at least three wearing hats, all accompany Nebuchadnezzar, crowned, with both hands gesturing toward idol of devil with grotesque facial features and cloven hooves, falling from broken column. From chapter 4 of Daniel. Daniel: in Lions’ Den and Habakkuk: carried by Angel -- At right, Daniel, wearing soft hat, lowers hands to heads of two lions flanking him, another pair of lions recumbent at his feet. To right, nimbed, flying angel, with right forefinger extended to scene and with left hand grasping hairs of Habakkuk, inscribed ABACUC, with his right hand raised and with his left hand holding suspended vessel, also flying. Scene in crenellated den, tower at background left with two arched windows in which appear heads of king and queen, crowned, possibly including Darius I of Persia, lowering right forefinger to scene.
