Thomasin von Zerclaere: Text, Der Wälsche Gast, Book 05.02 -- Three circles, connected by bands, representing Heaven, inscribed with stars; Earth; and Hell, with flames and inhabited by winged and horned devil holding hook, flanked by two nude seated souls. Between Heaven and Earth is nude soul, with hook in his leg, holding the connecting band, which is inscribed WAR RECHT SENF MILTE DEMUT. To right of the band is inscribed HEID TE. The band connecting Earth and Hell is flanked by six devils, some winged, all holding hooks. Beside them are inscriptions that read HIEFFENT MIR ICH HAN IN ERWRISCHET, DEZ RICHTUMS SCHAR, DEZ ADELS SCHAR, DES GELUCKES SCHAR, DER MACH SCHAR, and DEZ NAMEN SCHAR. The band connecting Earth and Hell encloses a scroll inscribed UBERMIT GIRDE NYT UNRECHT ZORN MEYNHERD.
Initial M with foliate ornament and marginal extenders.
