Lamech: abused by Wives -- Lamech, name inscribed LAMECH, with joined hands, stands flanked by two women, veiled, one with wimple, each grasping his shoulder with one hand, and extending or raising the other.
Caption, LAMECH AST(RI)NGIT(UR) A MALIS UXORIB(US) SUIS, is inscribed above miniature.
Right column:
Job: with Wife and Job: smitten by Satan -- Nude Job, name inscribed IOB, his body covered with sores, holding bowl with right hand, is seated on mound. At left, his wife, labelled UXOR, veiled, raises scourge with right hand and touches his right shoulder with her left hand. Above her is inscription AD HUC P(ER)MANES IN SIMPLICITATE TUA B(E)N(E)DIC D(E)O ET MORIERIS (Job 2:9). At right, devil, name inscribed DYA(BOLUS), grasps left arm of Job with his left claw, and raises scourge with right claw.
