Scene, Sports and Games: Chess -- Within gold frame, chessboard with red and gold pieces on squares lettered A-G for thirteen moves; diagram numbered 259. To right of board, initial C decorated with scrolling foliate infilling terminating in dragon-like hybrid animal and with foliate ascender and descender. Left and lower margins decorated with foliate extensions, upper part terminating in long-eared, dragon-like hybrid animal biting frame of board, and lower part on which is hybrid man, bald, with lower-half of dog, with right hand raising club and with left hand on ball beside hybrid animal, with head of dog and body of two-legged beast.
