Catherine of Alexandria: Scene, Torture -- Three figures recline on ground, amid flames, beside two wheels. Above them are two angels, holding swords, below flames descending from arc of heaven. At left, Emperor Maxentius, wearing imperial crown, arms crossed stands with four other men, two wearing headgear, one with hands raised. At right Catherine of Alexandria, crowned, with arms crossed on her breast, kneels beside sword. Behind her are two men and woman, wearing headdress. In background are group of soldiers. Scene is in landscape setting, with stream in foreground.
In lower portion of miniature two lions, standing on hind legs, flank and hold escutcheon with heraldry of Jouvenel des Ursins.
