Initial O enclosing bust of tonsured monk, wearing hood, extending hands out of the initial to grasp foliage. Margins decorated with foliate ornament and gold balls. At top of center margin, kneeling (?), back-turned figure wearing habit and hood, holding long-necked vase with both hands. Pen flourished initials. Text is first lesson of first nocturn for Matins on the feast of the Adoration of the Magi.
