Roman de la Rose: Scene, Fortune dispensing Wine -- Winged man, representing Personification of Fortune, wearing loin cloth, with winged feet, extends pitcher to stream of wine issuing from side of barrel surrounded by group of seven men and women, some partly visible, some holding dishes cups or pitchers to mouths among three other barrels, dish, flagon and wheel on floor.
To right, woman, respresenting Personification of Reason, crowned, wearing diadem, extends right hand toward scene and joins left hand with right hand of Lover, wearing feathered cap, raising left hand to breast.Miniature within architectual frame hung with tassels and with decorative scrollwork.
