Livres des Merveilles du Monde: Scene, Poitou -- In upper left, flock of six birds fly above water and ship issuing oar from which are suspended two birds, possibly ducks, two other birds swim in water with mermaid. In center, two serpents and one frog crawl on shore beside man, wearing hat, with sword in sheath tied to belt, both hands extended; bust of bridled horse (partly visible). To right, beside cross on rock, among two men, one wearing hat, both support draped corpse by shoulders and knees above grave. In background, among three tonsured clerics, wearing vestments, one holds cross-staff with right hand and one holds open book. Scene in grassy landscape with hills and buildings in background.
