Angel, Archangel Michael: transfixing Satan -- Archangel Michael, nimbed, winged, wearing plate armor, descends, amid rays, headfirst from cloud edged arc of heaven, holding cross-inscribed shield in left hand and with bannered (cross-inscribed) cross staff in right hand, stabs devil grasping staff with right hand and holding club with left hand. Another devil, holding club, enters toothed hell mouth emitting flames.
Lower margin, in circle of foliage (in narrative sequence):
Angel, Archangel Michael: Scene, Legend of Runaway Bull -- Man holding bow and arrow, aims at bull, on ground at mouth of cave in which Archangel Michael appears, nimbed, holding bannered staff.
Right margin, in circle of foliage, bottom to top (in narrative sequence):
1) Angel, Archangel Michael: Scene, commanding Bishop of Siponto -- Bishop of Siponto, wearing miter and cope, carrying crozier in right hand, follows three clerics, tonsured, the foremost carring processional cross. At right, Archangel Michael, nimbed, wearing armor, stands in mouth of cave holding with right hand, staff with cross-inscribed banner and holding shield in left hand.
2) Angel, Archangel Michael: Scene, commanding Bishop of Siponto -- Five soldiers, wearing helmets and armor, stand behind Bishop of Siponto, wearing miter and cope, holding crozier with both hands, kneeling before Archangel Michael, nimbed, wearing armor, holding staff with cross-inscribed banner in right hand, and cross-inscribed shield in left hand.
Margins decorated with border of foliate and floreate ornament, including strawberry.
